Technical Detail

Participant Eligibility and Health Requirements for the Trek

Age Limit:
Participants from 08 years and above are welcome to join the Trek.

Experience Level:
First-timers are encouraged to apply, and while previous trekking experience is appreciated, it is not mandatory.

Physical Fitness:
Participants should be capable of carrying a 12 kg Rucksack (backpack). Fitness is crucial, and climbers must possess sufficient stamina to cover a distance of 4 km in 32 minutes without experiencing undue stress.

Health Requirements:
– Resting pulse rate: 60 to 90 beats per minute
– Blood Pressure: Diastolic 75 – 85 mm Hg, Systolic 100 – 130 mm Hg
– Resting respiratory rate: 12 to 20 breaths per minute
– No history of liver and kidney issues
– Absence of Diabetes Mellitus, Bronchial Asthma, Epilepsy, Heart problems, Hypertension, etc.
– No existing health issues that might adversely impact the participant during the trek
– BMI under 25 (Exceptions for individuals with heavy bone density and those regularly engaged in weightlifting exercises)

Pre-Existing Conditions:
Participants with any pre-existing medical conditions or those currently on medication must declare it in the Self Declaration form.

Special Casual Leave for Government Employees:
Parvat Exploration, a registered adventure tour operator, allows government employees to avail of Special Casual Leave (SCL) for up to 30 days in a calendar year, as per the rules of the Pay Commission. This benefit applies when participating in trekking or mountaineering expeditions organized by a registered adventure organization like Parvat Exploration.

Special Note for Junior Trekkers:
For participants below 15 years, a parent or guardian must accompany them. Trekkers aged 15 to 18 can participate solo but must provide a signed disclaimer form from a parent or guardian.

Itinerary

Day 1: Rishikesh  (342M) to Lohajung (2316 m)

Embark on your journey from Rishikesh to Lohajung, enjoying the scenic drive through the Himalayan landscape.
Arrive at Lohajung and settle into your accommodation for the night.
Take the opportunity to acclimate to the altitude.

Day 2: Lohajung to Didina (2485 m) (05 Km Drive then 6 km trek)

Start your trek from Lohajung to Didina, covering a distance of 6 km. The trail may take you through lush forests and charming villages.
Arrive at Didina, Overnight stay at Homestay, and relish the tranquility of the surroundings.

Day 3: Didina to Ali Campsite ( Abin Kharak) (3415 M) (08 km trek)

Continue the trek from Didina to the Ali campsite, covering a distance of 12 km.
Set up tents for the night.
Enjoy the scenic beauty and the unique experience of the campsite.

Day 4: Explore Bedni (3430 M) and Trek to Gairoli Patal ( 3200 M) (08 Kms Trek)

Dedicate the day to exploring the enchanting meadows of Bedni and Ali Bugyal. Marvel at the panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks.
Arrive at Gairoli Patal, Overnight stay in Tents

Day 5: Trek to Wan (2440 M) and Drive to Lohajung

Embarking on a 9 km trek to Wan, perched at 2440 meters, offers an exhilarating experience through stunning landscapes and challenging terrains. This trek rewards adventurers with captivating views and a sense of accomplishment. Upon reaching Wan, a scenic 13 km drive to Lohajung awaits, providing panoramic vistas of lush valleys and towering peaks. This journey beautifully combines the thrill of trekking with the serenity of a picturesque drive, leaving you with unforgettable memories and a deep appreciation for the Himalayas.

Day 6: Lohajung (2316 M) to Rishikesh

Bid farewell to the mountains as you travel back from Lohajung to Rishikesh.
Reflect on the trek, cherish the memories, and enjoy the scenic drive back to Rishikesh, marking the end of your trekking expedition.

This itinerary allows for a well-rounded experience, combining trekking, exploration, and relaxation in the serene Himalayan landscapes. Always ensure you have the necessary permits, carry essential gear, and follow responsible trekking practices

INCLUSIONS

  1. Meals during the trek: Coverage from dinner on Day 1 to Breakfast on Day 6 ensures participants are provided with necessary sustenance throughout the trek.
  2. Forest Permits/Camping Charges: covering permits and charges for camping in the designated forest areas.
  3.  Accommodation: Tents on a triple-sharing basis, sleeping bags, and mats are provided for a comfortable and restful night’s sleep. Guest house/Lodge stays in Lohajung on Day 1 & 5 are also included. Also Homestay on Day 2 ( Triple Sharing Basis)
  4. Equipment: Micro-spikes, helmets, and gaiters are provided as required for the trek, ensuring safety and support during challenging terrains.
  5. Support Staff: Experienced trek guides, cooks, helpers, and mules or porters are included for carrying common supplies, facilitating a smoother trekking experience.
  6. Trek Leader: A Mountaineering course certified Trek Leader with First Aid certification, along with special rescue training from NIM, Uttarkashi, ensures the safety and guidance of participants.
  7. Transportation: Rishikesh to Lohajung & Back Transport Available.

  1. Portage of Personal Bags: The cost of portaging personal bags during the trek is not included and may be an additional expense for participants.
  2. Travel Insurance: The cost of any kind of travel insurance is not covered, and participants are advised to arrange their own travel insurance for additional protection.
  3. Personal Expenses: Any expense of a personal nature, such as additional meals, snacks, or personal items, is not included.
  4. Unspecified Expenses: Any expense not explicitly specified in the inclusions list is not covered and may be the responsibility of the participants.
  5. Any costs arising from early departure from the expedition
  6. Any extra costs incurred in the event of finishing the expedition early
  7. Expenses of a personal nature like laundry, phone calls, and beverages.
