Brief Description

This high altitude 6070 mtrs peak, U.T kangri lies in the south-eastern part of ladakh Zanskar range and has been named after the newly gained “Union Territory” political status of ladakh, it was first explored and crowned the name U.T kangri by the the members of Ladakh Mountain Guide Association and ever since It has become One of the most chosen alternative after the ban of Mt. Stok-Kangri in the year 2019.
The trek initially begins from Rumtse phu and further continues through the lush green aromatic valley along-side the crystal clear river all the way up-till the base-camp,
The Base is at an elevation of 5200 mtrs above the sea-level and is surrounded by some stunningly gorgeous snowcapped peaks all around, in the evenings you can relieve yourself with a hot steaming cup of coffee as the sun begins set behind the vast blue horizon, the valley is often frequented by the Changpa nomads throughout the year in search of greener pastures for their live-stocks.
The view from the summit would be literally jaw-dropping with a 360 panaromic view of the countless snowcapped peaks and famous mountains like, Kang-yatse 2, khyam 1, phia-lung and many others, the expedition is purely suited for anyone willing to jump out of their comfort zone and excel their limits.

Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVE IN LEH (3550 M)

PARVAT EXPLORATION will welcome you at Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport and drop you at your guest house,  Entire day would be spent resting at the guest house in order to get acclimatized with the pristine air of Ladakh. Don’t forget to drink a lot of water it will help you in the process of acclimatization.

 

DAY 2 : SMALL TREK AROUND LEH FOR ACCLIMATIZATION.

Today we will do a short trek within the vicinity of  Leh town covering Shanti Stupa and Namgyal Tsemo monastery, built in the 15th century by a king called  Tashi Namgyal as a symbol of his victory against the enemies and offers a perfect postcard view of the entire Leh town,  from there you can also get a birds-eye view of the( Zanskar range and mighty Stok-Kangri peak).After that, we will head out to a local restaurant for lunch and then we  will  relax for the rest of the day if you  wish you can  visit the main market  in the evening,

DAY 3: LOWER LEH TO UPPER LEH

Today we will have a short trek up to upper Leh,” Gangles” for acclimatization which would take around 2 to 3 hours, for lunch we will come back to the guest house, and if you wish you can visit Leh’s main market in the evening.

DAY 4: LEH TO U.T KANGRI 1ST CAMP

At around 8 in the morning, we will move out from the guest house towards U.T kangri’s first camp before staklangla pass which would be a drive of 3 hours, the camp lies on road head of Leh to Manali highway into a valley that leads to the summit. From the Rumtse Tea house, we can do the short trek to 1st camp.

Day 5 CAMP ONE TO BASE CAMP

Waking up in the middle of mountains  and nature you will be served a hot steaming cup of tea with a breakfast that suits your taste,  after breakfast we will head off to the base-camp and which would be a gradual climb of 5-6 hours, the terrains are pretty much formed because of frequent visitors so we won’t have to worry about steep trails, the view from the base camp would be magnificent with a perfect postcard view of the snow-capped peaks around it, after having lunch we will have a small

Walk around the camp to get acclimatized to the high altitude of the base camp.  We will have dinner early in the evening since we have to go to the summit the next morning.

Day 6 REST DAY

 

Day 7 U.T KANGRI SUMMIT

Today we will have to get ready  at 1 am in the morning and should  gear-up with each and every  hiking  accessories like, headlamp, hot water, warm clothes, backpacks ,dry fruits  and chocolates,             we will have  a quick breakfast and after that we will head-out for the big day,   the technicality and the timing of the trek depends highly  upon the level of snow and your  endurance  level  and  it might take 10 to 11 hours to complete,     of course  it would be freezing cold out there so we must take care of clothing and googles,    the view  from the  top is stunningly  amazing  and from there you will get a perfect postcard view of almost all the peaks around the Zanskar region,      the  hike would be  strenuous and hard with steep routes  but once you reach the top, it is all worth it, you will be rewarded with jaw-dropping   scenic views, photography mines and a odd satisfaction that only the mountaineers are familiar with,   after that we will slowly  climb down while keeping in mind the safety concerns,

As soon as we get back to the base camp, our staff will welcome us with tea, coffee, and snacks,

The night would be spent dreaming about mountains at the base camp.

 

Day 8 BACK TO LEH VIA THIKSEY

After having breakfast in the morning we will climb down towards the road head camp  which would be a trek of 4 to 5  hours, from there the cars would pick us up  and drop us  at the guest house, If you wish you can go to the main market in the evening to buy gifts and souvenirs for loved ones.

Day 9 AIRPORT DROP

After having breakfast we will drop you at the airport according to your ticket’s timing,
