Brief Description

Long staff col is between an P 6400 m & Nandadevi east peak in Lwan glacier region. 5885 mtrs high Longstaff col is enroute the Polish route or south ridge route of Nandadevi east . It has very less space for camping so usually climbers do not stay or camp there. It offers the eye-catching view of peaks inside inner Nandadevi sanctuary.

Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Munsyari from Kathgodam

– Begin the journey with a drive from Kathgodam to Munsyari covering a distance of 287 kms.

Day 2: Permissions and Local Exploration

– Acquire necessary trekking permissions.
– Explore nearby attractions in Munsyari.
– Morning transfer to Lilam (8 kms) by Jeeps/Taxis.
– Trek to Babaldhar Camp (2450 m, 9 kms via Minsingh top) – 5-6 hrs trek.
– Overnight stay in tents.

Day 3: Trek to Naherdevi

– Trek to Naherdevi (2800 m) – 5-6 hrs trek.
– Overnight stay in tents.

Day 4: Trek to Rilkot

– Morning trek to Rilkot (3130 m) – 5-6 hrs trek.
– Overnight stay in tents.

Day 5: Rilkot to Lwan Village

– Trek from Rilkot to Lwan Village Camp (3600 m) – 4-5 hrs trek.

Day 6: Lwan Village to Naspanpatti Camp

– Trek from Lwan Village to Naspanpatti Camp (4050 m) – 5-6 hrs trek.

Day 7: Naspanpatti to Nanda Devi Base Camp

– Trek from Naspanpatti to Nanda Devi Base Camp (4250 m) – 4-5 hrs trek.

Day 8: Acclimatization & Training

– Acclimatization day at Base Camp.
– Climbing below Nandalapak, reaching up to 5500 m, and returning to Base Camp.

Day 9: Load Ferries to Advance Base Camp

– Transport necessary supplies from Base Camp to Advance Base Camp.

Day 10: Occupy Advance Base Camp

 

Day 11: Advance Base Camp to Longstaff Col

– Route opening to Longstaff Col and return to Advance Base Camp.
– Optional stay at Longstaff Col.

Day 12: Summit Day or Reserve Day

– Attempt summit or use the day as a reserve for bad weather.

Day 13: Return to Base Camp

Day 14: Base Camp to Phatta (Ratagangal)

Day 15: Ratagangal to Martoli

Day 16: Trek from Martoli to Bogudiyar

– Full-day trek from Martoli to Bogudiyar – 8-9 hrs trek.

Day 17: Trek from Bogudiyar to Lilam & Drive Back to Munsyari

– Conclude the trek with a trek from Bogudiyar to Lilam.
– Drive back to Munsyari.

Day 18: Drive Back to Kathgodam

Note: The itinerary is subject to weather conditions and may be adjusted accordingly for safety and logistical reasons.

Inclusions

1.Meals during the trek: Coverage from dinner on Day 1 to Breakfast on Day 17/18 ensures participants are provided with necessary sustenance throughout the trek.
2.Forest Permits/Camping Charges: covering permits and charges for camping in the designated forest areas.
3.Accommodation: 4 Season Tents on a triple-sharing basis, Thermal rated sleeping bags, and mats are provided for a comfortable and restful night’s sleep. Guest house/hotel stays in Munsiyari on Day 1 & 17/18 are also included.
4.Support Staff: Experienced trek guides, cooks, helpers, and mules or porters are included for carrying common supplies, facilitating a smoother trekking experience.
5.Expedition Leader: IMF Approved Expedition Leader
6.Transportation: Kathgodam to Munsiyari & Back Transport Available.
7.Technical Equipment – PP Ropes, Helmet, Ice Axe, Crampons, Mountaineering Boots, Snow Stake, Dead Man/Boy
