Brief Description

Bhagirathi II is the second-highest peak in the Bhagirathi Massif, standing at 6,512 meters. It offers a challenging yet rewarding high-altitude climbing experience in the Garhwal Range of the Himalayas, situated within the Gangotri National Park. The expedition provides breathtaking views of peaks such as Thalaysagar, Shivling, and Meru.
Difficulty Level: The trek is considered relatively less challenging compared to other peaks in the region but is still demanding and suitable only for experienced climbers. The high elevations and difficulties encountered during the trek require careful consideration.

Day 1: Dehradun to Gangotri

Begin your journey from Dehradun, embarking on a picturesque drive towards the sacred town of Gangotri. Nestled in the Garhwal Himalayas, Gangotri is not only a significant pilgrimage site but also serves as the starting point for your Bhagirathi II Expedition. Enjoy the scenic landscapes as you travel to the base for this thrilling adventure.

Day 2: Acclimatization in Gangotri, Acclimatization Walk to Nala Camp

Take the second day to acclimatize to the high-altitude environment in Gangotri. Engage in an acclimatization walk to Nala Camp, allowing your body to adjust to the changing altitude. This gradual ascent is crucial for minimizing the risk of altitude-related issues as you prepare for the challenging trek ahead.

Day 3: Gangotri to Bhojbasa (3780 M) – Trek 14 Kms | 6 Hrs

Embark on a 14-kilometer trek from Gangotri to Bhojbasa, situated at an elevation of 3780 meters. This day’s journey involves a 6-hour trek, leading you through stunning landscapes and providing a taste of the rugged terrains that characterize this expedition.

Day 4: Bhojbasa – Gaumukh (3892M) – Nandanvan Base Camp (4340 M) – Trek 10 Kms | 5 Hrs

Continue your trek from Bhojbasa to Gaumukh, the source of the holy Ganges River. From Gaumukh, ascend further to reach Nandanvan Base Camp at an elevation of 4340 meters. This 10-kilometer trek, taking approximately 5 hours, offers breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers.

Day 5: Rest & Acclimatization Day at Nandanvan Basecamp

Allocate this day for rest and acclimatization at the Nandanvan Base Camp. It’s essential to allow your body to adapt to the high altitude, ensuring you are physically prepared for the challenging ascent that lies ahead.

Day 6 & 7: Load Ferries to ABC (Advance Base Camp)

Dedicate the next two days to loading ferries with necessary supplies for the Advance Base Camp (ABC). This preparation is vital for sustaining the expedition during the higher altitudes.

Day 8: Shift from Nandanvan to Advance Base Camp (ABC)

Embark on a shift from Nandanvan to the Advance Base Camp (ABC), marking a significant step closer to the summit. The transition involves navigating through challenging terrains, testing your endurance and mountaineering skills.

Day 9 & 10: Load Ferry from ABC to Camp 1

Utilize these days to load ferries with essential equipment and supplies needed for Camp 1. Thorough planning and organization are crucial during this phase of the expedition.

Day 11: Occupy Camp 1

As you reach Camp 1, focus on settling in and acclimatizing to the higher altitude. Occupy the camp and prepare for the subsequent stages of the ascent.

Day 12: Load Ferry from Camp 1 to Summit Camp

Efficiently load ferries with supplies required for the Summit Camp, ensuring that everything needed for the final push is in place.

Day 13: Shift to Summit Camp

Ascend to the Summit Camp, positioning yourself for the challenging summit push. This stage demands peak physical and mental preparedness.

Day 14 & 15: Reserve Day for Summit Push – Bhagirathi II (6512 m) and back to Summit Camp

Designate these days as reserved for the summit push. Depending on weather conditions and other factors, utilize this time to reach the pinnacle of Bhagirathi II (6512 meters).

Day 16: Descend from Summit Camp to Advance Base Camp (ABC)

Following the summit attempt, descend from the Summit Camp back to the Advance Base Camp. This descent is a critical phase that requires careful navigation.

Day 17: Descend from Advance Base Camp (ABC) to Nandanvan Base Camp

Continue your descent, moving from the Advance Base Camp to the Nandanvan Base Camp. The return journey allows you to appreciate the landscapes from a different perspective.

Day 18: Base Camp (Nandanvan) to Bhojbasa

Descend further to Bhojbasa, marking the final leg of the trek. This part of the journey allows for reflection on the challenging yet rewarding expedition.

Day 19: Bhojbasa to Gangotri and Overnight Stay in Gangotri

Complete your trek as you descend from Bhojbasa to Gangotri. Celebrate the successful completion of the expedition with an overnight stay in Gangotri.

Day 20: Departure from Gangotri to Dehradun – End of Parvat Exploration’s Bhagirathi II Expedition

Day 21: Contingency Day/Bad Weather Day

Allocate the last day as a contingency day, providing flexibility in case of unforeseen challenges or adverse weather conditions. This ensures that the expedition schedule remains adaptable and can accommodate unexpected situations.

Inclusions

1.Meals during the trek: Coverage from dinner on Day 1 to Breakfast on Day 20/21 ensures participants are provided with necessary sustenance throughout the trek.
2.Forest Permits/Camping Charges: covering permits and charges for camping in the designated forest areas.
3.Accommodation: 4 Season Tents on a triple-sharing basis, Thermal rated sleeping bags, and mats are provided for a comfortable and restful night’s sleep. Guest house/hotel stays in Gangotri on Day 1,2 & 19/20 are also included.
4.Support Staff: Experienced trek guides, cooks, helpers, and mules or porters are included for carrying common supplies, facilitating a smoother trekking experience.
