Kedarkantha is considered to be one of the most winter trekking locations and trek in Uttarakhand, India the altitude is 12500 feet, it is the best trek to fulfill your trekking satisfaction. The Kedarkantha trek is quite special as it has an amazing view and provides the best view of the entire cape of mountains. Today, Kedarkantha is the highest trek in the Uttarakhand Himalayas. Kedarkantha is an incredible place to stay and enjoy the sunrise and sunset. The trek is a classic winter trek that provides a great opportunity for tourists to explore something new about nature and experience life in the remote villages of the Garhwal Himalayas.

Kedarkantha Trek lies in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. It starts from the traditional village of Sour – Sankri, located in the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary National Park. Sour village is quite beautiful with snow-capped mountains and sparkling tons river flowing through here. If you visit here once, you will undoubtedly visit here again. The magic is the most beautiful thing about this place. Sankri is a wonderful place separated by mountains and cool climate and weather. Houses made of wood look very beautiful and adorable.

What is quite unique about the Kedarkantha trek is that you can also see the most beautiful Himalayas from here. Which are Swargarohini Peak -I. II.III (6300 meters), Black Peak (6387 meters), Bandarpunch Peak (6300 meters) and all mountains like Rupin pass, Supin Range, Khimloga Peak, Baraadsar Lake range, Vishkhopri Range, Ranglana Peak 5800 meters etc. can be seen from here.

Participant Eligibility and Health Requirements for the Trek

Age Limit:
Participants from 08 years and above are welcome to join the Trek.

Experience Level:
First-timers are encouraged to apply, and while previous trekking experience is appreciated, it is not mandatory.

Physical Fitness:
Participants should be capable of carrying a 12 kg Rucksack (backpack). Fitness is crucial, and climbers must possess sufficient stamina to cover a distance of 4 km in 32 minutes without experiencing undue stress.

Health Requirements:
– Resting pulse rate: 60 to 90 beats per minute
– Blood Pressure: Diastolic 75 – 85 mm Hg, Systolic 100 – 130 mm Hg
– Resting respiratory rate: 12 to 20 breaths per minute
– No history of liver and kidney issues
– Absence of Diabetes Mellitus, Bronchial Asthma, Epilepsy, Heart problems, Hypertension, etc.
– No existing health issues that might adversely impact the participant during the trek
– BMI under 25 (Exceptions for individuals with heavy bone density and those regularly engaged in weightlifting exercises)

Pre-Existing Conditions:
Participants with any pre-existing medical conditions or those currently on medication must declare it in the Self Declaration form.

Special Casual Leave for Government Employees:
Parvat Exploration, a registered adventure tour operator, allows government employees to avail of Special Casual Leave (SCL) for up to 30 days in a calendar year, as per the rules of the Pay Commission. This benefit applies when participating in trekking or mountaineering expeditions organized by a registered adventure organization like Parvat Exploration.

Special Note for Junior Trekkers:
For participants below 15 years, a parent or guardian must accompany them. Trekkers aged 15 to 18 can participate solo but must provide a signed disclaimer form from a parent or guardian.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Sankri (1950 m) from Dehradun

Moring 7-8 Am – Pickup from Dehradun Rly Station and Drive to Sankri.
Arrive in Sankri, a scenic village in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand.
Check-in to your accommodation and rest.
Explore the village, get accustomed to the surroundings, and meet your trekking guide.
Attend a briefing session with your guide to discuss the upcoming trek.
Dinner and overnight stay in Sankri.

Day 2: Sankri to Juda-ka-Taal (2773 m)

Start your trek early in the morning after a hearty breakfast.
The trail will take you through dense forests, charming meadows, and alongside flowing streams.
Reach Juda-ka-Taal, a beautiful high-altitude lake, and set up camp.
Enjoy the serene surroundings and have dinner at the campsite.
Overnight stay at Juda-ka-Taal.

Day 3:Juda-ka-Taal to Kedarkantha BC (3413 m)

Begin your trek towards Kedarkantha Base Camp.
The trail will offer panoramic views of snow-capped peaks and alpine meadows.
Set up camp at Kedarkantha Base Camp, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes.
Evening relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay at the base camp.

Day 4: Kedarkantha BC to Summit (3810 m) & back to Hargaon (2700 m)

Start early for the summit push to Kedarkantha Peak.
Enjoy the mesmerizing views from the summit.
Descend back to Kedarkantha Base Camp for a brief rest.
Continue the descent to Hargaon campsite for an overnight stay.
Dinner and well-deserved rest in Hargaon.

Day 5:Hargaon campsite to Sankri (1950 m); Depart from Sankri to Dehradun

Trek back to Sankri, retracing your steps through the enchanting landscapes.
bid farewell to Sankri and the beautiful Himalayan region.
Depart for Dehradun, enjoying the scenic drive.
Reach Dehradun by evening, and your Trek concludes.
